EMT's In Training

On Tuesday, December 5, 2006 Florida Volunteer Department aided North Adams Ambulance in training the new EMT's.  They staged a two-car motor vehicle accident with 9 patients in front of the Florida Volunteer Fire Department.  The night was cold and blustery with a temperature in the single numbers.  The new EMT's were responsible for assessing patient condition and figuring out the modes of extrication necessary.  Patients were treated, extricated and brought to our make shift hospital (equipment bay) where the EMT's had to give full reports on patient conditions as they would with a real setting.
